ABOUT "UNPLUGGED" and our YOGA Practice
SUP Yoga: A fantastic way to tone your core, build stability and learn yoga on the water!
SUP yoga involves standing on a large paddle board whilst taking part in a yoga practice. The need for balance and stability in order to do poses whilst on the board will mean you learn about your body, your breath and your mind in a very different way to being at home or in the yoga studio.
SUP yoga is a great new way to experience yoga and challenge yourself. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, try something new and empower yourself.
Yoga means union, when it’s practiced outdoors it seems like the union with nature, humanity, and the universe is truly felt.
Dynamic Vinyasa: a flowing practice, synchronising breath and movement (vinyasa). It is regarded as most effective in increasing health and fitness, harnessing vital life-force (prana taken in primarily through the breath), stabilising emotions, and supporting a stream of consciousness that leads to greater mental stillness and focus.
Yoga Nidra: or “yogi sleep” is a sleep-like state which you experience during meditation. Yoga nidra, lucid sleeping is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.
Pranayama: breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body to free the breath and so the flow of prana – life energy. Through a regular and sustained practice of pranayama you can supercharge your whole body!
The retreat is open to all levels and will offer challenges to the more experienced practitioner, whilst also accommodating and encouraging those new to yoga. There is NO experience necessary with both the YOGA and SUP Yoga Practice!

This week includes Morning BOGA YOGA Floating SUP Excursions at a PRIVATE LAGOON in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere, and the lush beaches of Punta Solimon followed by an afternoon practice back at the Jungle OUTDOOR Palapa Yoga Shala, where your afternoon practice with CAROLINE GW Yoga is just what you need to welcome the setting sun and wind down your day. We have planned special touches, and just enough to also give you that free time to spend how you wish...in a hammock, with a book, a massage under a palm tree, a cycle or moped ride to UNESCO's World Heritage Site, SIAN KA'AN BIOSPHERE, or just a hammock with a detox organic juice to quench the hot yet breezy caribbean climate.

WHAT TO PACK:


Comfortable Walking/ Biking Shoes / Flip-Flops.
Yoga Clothes or T- Shirts and shorts.
A yoga mat is often the sole piece of equipment for one’s practice. Who was there with you when you first started out, butterflies in your stomach? Your mat. Who was there when you nailed that challenge asana? Your mat.
You mat is very much your silent partner. Make sure you buy a mat that you want to spend time on and that you can rely on. Consider it an investment. It should do what good partners should do: it should be supportive, not a hindrance.
Bikini / Sarong / Sunglasses / A hat to protect you from the sun while walking or biking/Sunscreen – we are eco-conscious and require your Sunscreen to be eco-friendly/ Rash Guard, highly recommended for those with tattoos, fair skin and those who are sensitive to the heat!
Personal toiletries / Medications/supplements / Water bottle / Flashlight / Sunscreen / Insect repellant.
Warm clothes or a shawl for cooler nights / A journal and pen or pencil / Good books to read while lounging in a hammock.

There is a supermarket in Tulum town approximately a 10-minute taxi drive from the hotel where you can buy sunscreen, toiletries (shampoo, conditioners etc.), insect repellant etc.
